Out of thirty-three men who handed in their names as candidates for the freshman crew, hardly more than enough for two eights put in an appearance at the gymnasium at the time appointed for doing the weights. As the failure of any one who has been assigned to one of the crews to come to time subjects the other members of it, and also the coach, to much inconvenience, a little care ought to be exercised in this respect by all who are candidates. All who wish to obtain a place on the crew ought to row regularly, if at all, until they are informed by the captain that their services are no longer required.
