FOOT-BALL.

Harvards, 4 Coals and 4 Touchdowns; Techs, O.

The 'Varsity eleven played an interesting foot-ball match with the team representing the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, on Holmes, yesterday afternoon. The most brilliant playing on Harvard's side was done in the first half of the game, when they succeeded in getting two goals, kicked from touchdowns by Edmands, and one from the field by Mason. In the second three-quarters the Techs did better, and Harvard only succeeded in getting one goal, which was kicked from the field by Mason. The play of our team has been materially improved since their last match, and the spectators were much pleased by the game. The catching and kicking of the half-backs is still rather weak, however, and some of the men still seem disinclined to fall on the ball. The best playing for Harvard was done by Mason, Kendall and Ayres; for the Techs, by Haines, who made several very fine rushes in the last part of the game.
