That the Lampoon is not to be given up this year is a matter of congratulation to the entire college. The Lampoon is an enterprise in which all Harvard men have a common interest and a common pride. In the quality and genuine wittiness of its text the Lampoon, in our opinion, does and has always surpassed all its rivals. That its cuts, in mechanical execution, have not equalled those of some other illustrated college papers must, we think, be admitted; in spirit, however, they have always hit the popular tone at Harvard. The Lampoon is representative. To insure its succest it must have the support of all Harvard men. This, we think, will be willingly accorded it.
