TO THE EDITORS OF THE HERALD: Why is it that there are not more men at Prof. Lovering's lectures on Acoustics? There were but sixteen there Thursday. Are there not more than sixteen men, besides those taking courses in physics, who wish to know more about this subject than they learn in their freshman year?
The lectures are delivered in a very clear style and are fully illustrated by numerous experiments. At present "Musical Pipes" is the subject. Considering the importance that the sciences are assuming at present, it is remarkable how few men take advantage of the opportunities presented here. There is no college in the country that gives so many "voluntary" courses of lectures to its students. It is surprising that more men do not attend these courses.
