Notwithstanding the fact that the subject of "plank walks" has been so thoroughly ventilated by the college papers that it must provoke a smile on every face to see it mentioned again, nevertheless we think it our duty to call the attention of the authorities to the wretched condition of the walks between the chapel and Memorial, and between the library and chapel. Even now the mud is several inches deep in some places, and what must we expect when the regular spring thaws come? It seems to us that a great lack of forethought was shown by the authorities when they expended so much in placing stone and brick walks all over the yard, and left these two most important thoroughfares without even the protection of that cheap, and much abused, "plank walk."
