THE contribution in the last Advocate, "Dr. Peabody's Successor," as well as the editorial article upon the same subject, we desire fully to indorse. The question is so thoroughly treated by our cotemporary, that there remains little for us to say; but we feel that we accurately express the sentiment of the College when we ask that Dr. Peabody's successor be some one who is not an Unitarian. It is in no controversial spirit that this request is made, but simply with the desire that Harvard shall be free from all sectarian influences. The appointment of Dr. Storrs, or some other equally prominent Evangelical clergyman would, we believe, be a step in the direction of Harvard's best interests. We therefore uphold in the most unqualified terms the position taken by the Advocate.
