THE authority of a statement that appeared in our last issue has been questioned. In the article entitled "The Physical Examinations" we denied that there was a prevalence of heart complaint in College, and stated that of two hundred and fifty men only two were afflicted with that disease. Our information was obtained from Dr. Sargent, and upon further inquiry we are fully sustained by him in our position. We reiterate the statement that coffee-drinking and cigarette-smoking have not caused a prevalence of heart complaint among Harvard undergraduates.
