THE course of readings from the Divine Comedy which Professor Norton has just begun in Boston will be similar to the course which was given here, but more in the form of lectures than of mere translations. This gives an excellent opportunity to get a clear idea of Dante's great work, and those who omitted to hear Professor Norton last winter should endeavor to attend this course, if they can manage to do so. An analysis of the portions omitted and comments on the portions read will secure a thorough understanding and enjoyment of the poem; and the readings will, as we all know, be not only instructive, but also charming.
