YESTERDAY the following telegram was received from New Haven: "Rather than win the game by forfeit, we will meet you half-way and offer the same terms as to Princeton. We will play with thirteen, the other conditions remaining as before." The calm assurance with which the representative of the Y. U. F. B. C. assures us that we shall forfeit the game if we do not play with an eleven is certainly remarkable, when we bear in mind that it was Harvard, not Yale, that sent the challenge, and that fifteen was the number agreed upon by all the colleges. The captain of our team wishes it distinctly understood that he does not recognize their claim, and declines playing this fall on any conditions.
