COMMENCEMENT this year will present a more imposing appearance than ever before. One feature of the day is now to be established which will add much to the character of the exercises. The Faculty have decided to appear in gowns. This is a step in the right direction, and we hope their example will be followed next year by the graduating class. The dress-suit is rather inappropriate for a morning costume, and the gown - the distinctive dress of scholars - is a much more fitting uniform for occasions like our Commencement. But since dress-suits have been selected this year, it is the duty of every Senior to appear in the dress which the committee have made conventionally proper. A single exception to the dress decided upon will do much to mar the appearance of the class.
