O WANTON wind, I'm watching you,
As through the world you wander;
I saw you brush the morning dew
From those sweet daisies yonder.
A lily by the river's bank; -
Within your arms you caught her,
You bowed her head until she drank
Her shadow in the water.
Not satisfied with that, you swept
More swiftly down the meadow,
And then the tiny flower slept
