LAST Monday night a room on the ground-floor in Weld was entered while the occupant was at dinner, and an overcoat with a few small articles was stolen. Three years ago a man was caught in the act of robbing a room in Matthews, and it happens that his term in the House of Correction has but just expired; moreover, he was seen in the Square on Monday evening. There may be no connection between these events, but it would be well for those whose rooms are easily entered to take some precaution. We are unfortunately left by the College without sufficient protection either from thieves or from fire. Consequently, the precautions we take ourselves are the only safeguards we can rely on, and a certain amount of responsibility rests with every one.
