AN outrage to college feelings, and probably the work of students themselves! Why are we called upon to deprecate the shameful act that was committed Wednesday night? We were in hopes that this spirit of irreverence had passed away, but the "leaven of unrighteousness" has shown itself in our midst, to bring shame and contempt on the students. It is but justice to say that these occurrences are rare; yet, when they do appear, they show a vandalism unworthy the lowest barbarians, and an existing undercurrent which it is our sad duty to notice. Have we not sufficient respect for our College buildings not to desecrate them? Are they not as much our own property as that of the Corporation? Would we willingly injure what is our own? If so, we are worse than the Paris Commune; for we lay a claim to education, and yet act as blindly. We hope this will be the last of such acts.
