BASE BALL. - Boston, November 1. Bostons 19, Harvard 21.
THE clothing stolen from Holworthy 17 was found by the police at a pawnbroker's shop in Boston. There is good reason to expect the thief's detection.
AND now the Pierian Sodality and Glee Club have squabbled. This is not what one is apt to look for from two institutions whose sole object is harmony.
THE great Daniel Pratt is in town once more. He is canvassing the "Lunatic," and is as full of "elements" as ever.
THE fair of the G. A. R. closed on Saturday evening last, and we are glad to state that it was a success, both financially and otherwise. The voting was very satisfactory in its results; Dr. Peabody received the clock, "Cambridge I" the silk banner, and (alas for Gillie!) Captain Tyler of the University Nine bore away the handsome ball-bat.

THAT many persons who enjoy the privileges of our Reading-room resolutely refuse to subscribe seems to point to the fact that the Reading-room is considered as common property. The disappearance of Harper's Weekly and several other journals within the last few days shows that this erroneous opinion is growing alarmingly prevalent. This petty thieving must be stopped at once, and the Executive Committee are ready to "make it exceedingly unpleasant" for the offenders.
AGAIN we can enjoy the sweet sleep which hard work and virtue give to youth, undisturbed by fears of fire or theft, - another night-watchman has been appointed!
THE Freshmen and Sophomores played a match game of foot-ball on Thursday afternoon, in which '77 came off best.
