An old-fashioned batting rally in the ninth inning yesterday turned a 5 to 4 defeat into a 6 to 5 victory for the Harvard Seconds over Westbrook Seminary Chase led off with a hit, Hurley sacrificed, and Cotter, batting for Nash, singled to left, scoring Chase with the tying run. Rice walked, and then Amsden singled to right center, Cotter scoring the all-important run.

Bits by Rice Amsden, Field, and Keene sent Harvard away with a two run lead in the opening round, but the visitors got to Nash in the second and knotted the count. In the Crimson half, Rice connected for a clean home run to the Stadium wall, and Harvard was again ahead.

Field opened the fifth with a single, Gardner sacrificed, and Keene hit cleanly to center, scoring Field. This two-run margin proved useful, as Westbrook landed on Nash for four hits and tied the score again in the eighth. A triple and a sacrifice fly in the ninth put the schoolboys ahead and set the stage for the aforementioned Harvard rally.

Examinations kept three of Captain Rice's players away from the game. Hurley played a steady game behind the bat and Keene contributed a sensational stop and throw at shortstop. First baseman Ready excelled for Westbrook.
