PARIS--A strong French attack along the east bank of the Moselle River near the Luxembourg frontier today drove German forces from positions around the German town of Perl after daylong heavy shelling of the German lines, military dispatches reported.
Further east on the 90-mile northern front, a German infantry attack led by tanks was reported to have been hurled back at dawn.
