Stanley Bagg Pennock '15, of Syracuse, N. Y., was killed by an explosion at the Aromatic Chemical Works, Newark, N. J., on Monday, November 27.
Pennock was born June 15, 1892, at Syracuse, N. Y. He prepared for college at Hackley School and entered Harvard in the fall of 1911. During his first year in college he played on the Freshman football team and won his numerals in track. The following fall he began his career as guard on the University football eleven, playing the position for three successive years and achieving a place on the all-America teams of 1913 and 1914.
As a student, Pennock showed the same intelligent persistence that he exhibited on the football field and achieved an enviable record in scholarship.
During 1914 and 1915 he was chosen a of the Student Council and at the Senior Class elections he was made a member of the Class Day Committee. His clubs were: D. U., D. K. E., Institute of 1770 and Hasty Pudding.
