New York, May 28--Barney Ross captured the welterweight championship tonight by winning a 15-round decision over Jimmy McLarnin. McLarnin weighed 142: Ross 137 3-4.
The judges disagreed and the referee. Forbes, gave the decision to Ross. Judge Tom O'Rourke voted for McLarnin, while the other judge, Harold Barues, voted for Ross.
