At a special meeting yesterday the Faculty of Arts and Sciences voted to establish final honors in fine arts. Rules for administration were passed that not later than October 10 of his final year of preparation the candidate must present for approval by the Committee on Honors and Higher Degrees in the division of fine arts a plan of work which shall comprise at least five courses selected from those offered under fine arts, architecture and landscape architecture. Such work may, however, with the consent of the committee, include courses of study bearing on the fine arts offered by the other divisions of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. On or before May 15 the candidate must present to the chairman of the division a satisfactory thesis, and he must pass an examination upon its subject matter at such time thereafter as the Committee may appoint. The subject of the thesis must have been submitted to the chairman of the division for approval before the Christmas recess.
