1) So You Think You Can Cure Cancer?

A sweaty dining hall party never felt so benevolent. Go to Superheroes: Powers and Party for a Purpose, and dance your tushy off for a cause! The party will raise money for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Also, come out to see The Harvard Undergraduate Drummers bang on stuff.

Friday, Oct. 24 at 10:00 p.m. Lowell House Dining Hall, $7

2) Come Again?

According to the music moguls, Swedish indie siren Lykke Li has at least as good a chance of stumbling upon success in the States as you do of mispronouncing her name. That shouldn’t stop you from dropping it, though. This Swedish indie star is already selling out venues across the U.S. See her while she’s cheap, so you can say you knew her back when.

Thursday, Oct. 23 at 9:00 p.m. , Paradise Rock Club, $15

3) Easy to Remember

Harvard-Radcliffe Dramatic Club is celebrating its 100th Anniversary with the play Mnemonic. It’s been described as “multi-medial” and “multi-sensory,” so if you’re looking for a titillating Friday night, look no further than this sensational playbill. It opens this Friday and will run until the first weekend in November.

Friday, Oct. 24 at 8:00 p.m. New College Theatre, $8

4) Classical

How many times have you heard a legendary Indian Classical singer with a range of three and a half octaves? That’s what we thought. Go hear a live concert by Pandit Jasraj and escape to India for the night.

Friday, Oct. 24. 8:00 p.m. Kresge Auditorium, MIT, $20

5) A Spooky Menagerie

We’re sure pets, like college students, don’t want to miss out on being stuffed into costumes this Halloween. Thank goodness there’s an event designed to help them let loose and help their friends: a pet costume parade fundraiser for the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. If not spectacular, it will certainly be a spectacle.
